Here at Advantest, I am not just expected to assist, I am fully involved in projects. For example, we have developed a service box with test programs that analyzes and resolves common errors at an early stage, before staff are deployed around the world at high cost. My tasks included the design of the box and CAD engineering – the box is now used regularly at Advantest. I think it is great that I have the opportunity to do something that the business and our customers can really benefit from.

Internship
Do you have the time and desire to spend a couple of months discovering the world of work at a global technology player? And to gain first-hand insights of a professional setting? Then why not apply for an internship at Advantest? Whether it is a requirement of your course or on a voluntary basis – when you join us as an intern, you will be assuming personal responsibility for small-scale projects from day one – and will be a full-fledged member of an international team, encountering the typical real-world tasks and challenges of the semiconductor testing business. Give us your thirst for knowledge, your initiative and your motivation – and we’ll give you plenty in return.
You can expect above-average compensation, flexible working hours and a personal mentor in your chosen department who will help you with any questions or problems. You will also be able to network and exchange insights with other interns, students and trainees.
Working Student
Are you currently right in the middle of a full-time university degree course – and want to combine all that theory with some nuts-and-bolts experience of real-world projects and tasks with relevance to your studies? Then apply for a working student assignment at Advantest, and immerse yourself in our unique business environment. With us, you’ll not only play an active role in our projects, you’ll also be able to expand your personal network of important contacts. What’s more, you’ll also be earning real money alongside your studies.
Bachelor or Master Thesis
The end of your university course is in sight, and you’re making plans for your bachelor’s or master’s thesis? One that has relevance to real industry business needs? Then simply get in touch. If you prefer, you can choose a subject that excites you from an existing pool. Or we can put our heads together and jointly define a suitable question to be examined in line with your studies and strengths.
We offer you flexible working hours, provide you with a personal mentor and support you financially. Moreover, you will have the chance to carry out certain aspects of your research and perform tests on our products, and to make use of the corresponding technical resources. And throughout, you can be certain of the expert advice and assistance of your Advantest colleagues – plus access to our in-house library.
Collaboration, joint projects and bursaries
For us it is vitally important to work hand-in-glove with student groups, initiatives and university institutes to research and address tomorrow’s trends and technologies. In association with the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research we support five to ten talented students, with scholarships. This funding allows beneficiaries to take a step up, and plays an important role in preparing the up-and-coming generation for the challenges ahead. In the future, too, we wish to enable people to make the most of their potential. We therefore welcome new contacts and project proposals – maybe the next person to receive our support and work with us in exciting new areas could be you?
